For the past few years, researchers from the University of Glasgow have been working alongside local residents to explore this rich heritage. Now, the project is taking an exciting next step: creating a community-led archive to ensure the history of the Fair is protected for generations to come.

To kick things off, a special community event is coming to Bo’ness Hippodrome:

How You Can Get Involved

Everyone is invited to bring along any Fair-related items, old or new. If you can’t bring the items themselves, photos or a simple list of what you have are just as helpful.

Fair Day Film Night – Dracula

This Halloween, steady your heartbeat and cross the threshold of the historic Bo’ness Hippodrome, where an ordinary night at the cinema slips quietly into the realm of the uncanny—all in support of the Bo’ness Children’s Fair Festival.

On Tuesday, 27th October at 7:30pm, prepare to confront the immortal terror that reshaped gothic storytelling as we summon Bram Stoker’s Dracula to the big screen. Whether you have braved its shadows many times or are feeling its fangs for the first, this screening promises a slow, creeping dread that deepens… and deepens… until darkness itself seems to breathe.

Choose your fate wisely:
🧛‍♂️ £17 Ticket – Includes a cocktail & popcorn… though you may wish to watch the mirrors and the corners where no light dares linger.
🧛‍♀️ £10 Ticket – Screening only, for those bold enough to walk into the night without protection.
